Tripura beefs up security ahead of Amit Shah’s visit tomorrow

We will deploy police, Tripura State Rifle Jawans, and CRPF to avert any kind of untoward incidents, police said.

Tripura Police has beefed up security across the state as well as along the international boundary ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit on March 8.

Speaking to the The Meghalayan, West District Superintendent of Police Bogati Jagadeeswar Reddy said, “Elaborate security arrangements have been made ahead of Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit on March 8. We will deploy police, Tripura State Rifle Jawans, and CRPF to avert any kind of untoward incidents.”

He said that a briefing session was held with security personnel on various security measures put in place for the Home Minister’s visit.

“They will be deployed as per the plans decided in the meeting. We are also deploying CRPF along with adequate numbers of TSR and state police personnel in different parts of the district”, he said.

Informing about the details about the itinerary of the Union Home Minister visit, officials said that Shah will inaugurate a silver door at Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur sub-division under Gomati district, and also lay the foundation stone for National Forensic Science University in Agartala on Tuesday. Following this, he will address a public rally at Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala’s West district.
