Tripura has seen a sharp rise in exports during the last couple of years due to a surge in production of various items.
This was informed by chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) Tinku Roy during a press briefing on March 7, wherein he also informed that exports to neighbouring states have increased significantly.
“Before 2018, Tripura exported goods worth Rs 10 crore. But in the last couple of years, the export of goods has significantly increased. We have exported goods worth over Rs 200 crore. The production of fish, meat, electricity, and other goods has also been increased,” Roy told reporters.
He informed that the government has already initiated various works to further increase the state’s industrial production capacity.
“A few weeks ago, the state government organized an investment summit during which investors signed MoUs worth over Rs 3000 crore. After the signing of MoU, projects worth Rs 300 was passed for setting up factories aasend plants,” he said.
The TIDC further informed that for the first time a start-up company named iLogitron Technologies Private limited has been selected to represent the state at World Expo-2020 in Dubai from March 4 to 17 this year.
“They will introduce two of their products namely iSync-Smart Home-a plug-n-play smart home system that can retrofit into any existing electrical circuit and turn your home/office smart to control any appliance through mobile phone, and iSync-Smart Agri-a one-point solution which can be used to water plants through mobile app,” Tinku added.
