AGARTALA:
Tripura police arrested six persons and seized 107 kg of cannabis from their possession in Bagbasa under Dharmanagar sub-division of Tripura’s North District, on January 31.
Those arrested have been identified as Rohit Debbarma (20), Santosh Das (31), Kajal Namasudra (33), Biki Debbarma (19), Mithun Debbarma (20), and Raju Debbarma (19).
Acting on a tip-off, the police personnel intercepted a vehicle (registration number TR04 3405) at around 12.30 pm, and seized the contraband items stacked in the vehicle, the police said, adding that the vehicle was coming from Kachuchhara in Dhalai district.
They will be produced before the court tomorrow, the police said.
