SHILLONG:
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, on June 30, said that the state government is in constant touch with the government of India to submit views and suggestions on the proposed amendment of the 6th Schedule.
Sangma also informed that the government has been speaking regularly with the district councils, unofficially, and a lot of talks have been conducted at an official level as well.
“There are a few areas where we have seen 95 per cent of the concerns being addressed; only a few issues are left and we are going to be discussing with all the Autonomous District Councils (ADCs),” the chief minister said.
Maintaining that the process is on, Sangma said, “We would like to see that this amendment also, once agreed, go through.”
