SHILLONG:
The inauguration and key handover ceremony of Vivanta Meghalaya will be held on October 14 at 4 pm at Khyndailad, Shillong, with chief minister Conrad K Sangma attending the inaugural event as chief guest.
Present in the same ceremony will be minister of Tourism Sniawbhalang Dhar and Chairman Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) Saleng A. Sangma.
The much awaited Taj Vivanta (erstwhile Hotel Crowborough), wore a near deserted look for 36 years.
On the same day, the CM will also attend the Tri Hills Ensemble to be held at Soso Tham auditorium at 11 am and the Arts and Culture minister Sanbor Shullai will be the guest of honour.
The Tri Hills Ensemble is set to celebrate Meghalaya’s rich tribal heritage and culture and the CM will also unveil the statues of the state’s three tribal freedom fighters – Tirot Sing Syiem, Kiang Nangbah, and Pa Togan Sangma.
