AGARTALA:
Government Railway Police (GRP) on September 27 detained three Bangladeshi nationals from Kanchanjunga Express in Ambassa under Dhalai district when they were en route to Bangalore.
As per an official of GRP, the three Bangladeshi nationals were identified as Md Rubel, Md Akbar Molla, and Md Halim.
“During preliminary interrogation, it emerged that Md Halim had sent his wife and child to Bangalore to work two years ago,” Ranjit Bardhan, Officer-in-Charge of Ambassa GRP Police Station, said.
“Late last night Halim along with two other people named Rubel and Akbar Molla entered India without passports and then went to Agartala Railway Station by auto around four in the morning. From there, they had made a plan to travel to Bangalore on the Kanchanjunga Express, but the police of Ambassa GRP police station arrested them following a tip-off,” Bardhan said.
A case has been registered against the three arrested men and they will be produced before a court on September 28.
There have been many similar cases recently as Tripura shares an 856 km long international boundary with neighbouring Bangladesh.
