JOWAI:

Jowai TMC candidate Awhoi Andrew Shullai has come down heavily on the problems and hardships faced by the employees of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) under the MDA government.

Speaking at a public meeting held at Mookyrdup locality in Jowai,  Shullai said, “The district council is facing acute financial crisis, however the MDA-led government in the last five years has failed to look into the matter for the betterment of the staff”.

He added, “The NPP seems to have no interest and no responsibility toward the staff of district councils in the state and if we elect them again to power they will abolish these.”

The TMC candidate also lamented the bad road condition that the people of Jowai have had to suffer for the last four years. He questioned the repair of the road which takes place only when the election is very near.

Shullai informed the people that he will work hard for the cleanliness of Jowai town, adequate water supply, proper health care, education, sports activities and for infrastructure development.

He further stated that the Umngot Greater Water Supply Scheme, the Iawmusiang Super Market Complex, the B Ed College have been pending for many decades. The MCH Hospital is still not functional even after it was inaugurated. He promised that if he is voted to power he will try his best to focus on these issues besides the employment of the youth.
