Trial of BSF personnel in Mawshun firing case on, termination likely: Tynsong

“Currently, trial by the tribunal is on and it seems they may even be terminated (from service),” Tynsong told reporters.

Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong on Thursday said that BSF personnel involved in the killing of a civilian at Mawshun village are likely to be terminated from their services.

“Currently, trial by the tribunal is on and it seems they may even be terminated (from service),” Tynsong told reporters.

He added that they have been under suspension after the incident.

On May 6, 32-year-old Roning Nongkynrih, resident of Jalynteng village, Nongkynrih was shot dead by BSF personnel at Mawshun village. Nongkynrih was ferrying cattle in a lorry when he was fired upon by BSF posse.

Soon after the incident, three BSF personnel identified as Moni Singh, head constable, Sengel Singh constable and driver Kdam Kishore were arrested.

According to BSF officials, the head constable had shot three rounds from his Beretta SMG at the deceased causing instant death.
