Tripura Police on February 10 arrested three persons for allegedly killing a person in Melaghar under the Sonamura sub-division of Tripura’s Sepahijala district on February 8.
The deceased has been identified as Balaram Debnath (25).
According to police, the incident took place on Pongbari Kemtall road when Balaram along with his parents went to attend a Puja in the house of one Sajib Barman.
One Prasenjit Nama allegedly assaulted Balaram Debnath and Sajib Barman with a knife. Both were shifted to Melaghar Hospital where Balaram was declared as brought dead while Sajib was provided medical aid.
On receipt of information police rushed to the spot and started investigation. A specific case was registered at Melaghar Police Station in this connection.
During the investigation, police arrested three accused persons , Prasenjit Nama(34) Ratan Nama(35), and Badal Nama(28). The case is under further investigation.
