The United Democratic Party (UDP) MLA and MDC of Ranikor Assembly Constituency, Pius Marwein, administered the oath of affirmation to the newly elected office-bearers of the South West Khasi Hills District on July 23.
The newly affirmed office-bearers, belonging to the Youth Wing and Women’s Wing of the party, took oath at a function held at the Dorbar Hall of Mawkyrwat.
On the same day, South West Khasi Hills District president Elevenson Wanniang and its secretary Bhalumlang Khar Lyngdoh were also affirmed on the occasion. The newly affirmed members of the UDP included its president-Shainkorlang Nongsiej, secretary-SK Budnah for the UDP Youths Wing. Women’s Wing president-Shidalin Marngar, secretary-Luckydora Lyngkhoi were affirmed at UDP members.
The function was graced by GG Bung Snaitang, the joint secretary of UDP Central Body and Anvil Lyngdoh, the chief sdviser UDP South West Khasi Hills District and elderly people of Mawkyrwat were present on the occasion.
The programme was held to strengthen the part in view of the Assembly elections to be held early next year.
