NONGPOH:
The United Democratic Party (UDP) Nongpoh Circle on Saturday, felicitated Mayral Born Syiem, who is the incumbent legislator for Nongpoh. The event was organised at All Meghalaya Karbi Association Auditorium at Umwang in the presence of Balajied Rani, Member of District Council (MDC), Nongpoh Constituency, and office-bearer of the UDP, Nongpoh constituency.
Syiem said, “I express my gratitude towards the people of Nongpoh constituency for giving me another opportunity to serve you better as your representative at the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, and to raise the voice of the people of Nongpoh constituency and the district as a whole.”
“As your MLA, I will try my best to begin the construction of the Nongpoh–Sonapur Road via Umden, which is one of the main roads for the people of Nongpoh constituency. I will force the government to start implementation of Marmain PHC and sub-centre in many places within the constituency, improvement of the Northern Ri Bhoi College, inauguration of the ITI and Polytechnic.”
Syiem further promised on pushing for a medical college in Ri Bhoi; in particular, in Nongpoh constituency.
Rani further added, “UDP has won the Nongpoh seat for the first time due to the support of the people […] So he will fight for us at the Assembly.”
