Umiam water level rises

Shillong:

Umiam recorded a rise in water level at 3166.43 feet as of Saturday at 4 pm while Friday’s record was at 3164.95 feet at 4 pm.

It may be mentioned that the highest level of the water is 3220 feet.

The rainfall in the past few days was a relief for the population not only as a break from the sweltering heat but from the constant load-shedding.

The Power Minister AT Mondal had often said that the government is now depending on the rain to put a stop to load shedding.
