VGK Kynta never approached BJP for roles and responsibilities: Mawrie

SHILLONG:

State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Ernest Mawrie, on May 1, said that senior advocate VGK Kynta who resigned from the party recently had never approached the BJP for roles and responsibilities and that the resignation was all of a sudden.

“To entrust any responsibilities to members who join the party is not immediate, a person has to be associated with the party, they have to attend meeting and programmes only then can will we entrust them. After joining, he (Kynta) never approached us, so I don’t know, he joined and submitted the resignation from the party,” Mawrie told media persons.

Asked about the party’s preparation for the upcoming District Council and the Lok Sabha elections, Mawrie said the party is preparing and strengthening itself for the same.

“We have already formed the Lok Sabha Prabhas, and you know as a national party we have to follow the guidelines and directions from the centre,” Mawrie said.
