Aizawl-based young entrepreneur C Lalawmpuia has become the first person from the state to cycle 1575.42 km to Kolkata.
Lalawmpuia reached the capital of West Bengal after pedalling for 15 days. “I have spent 100:30 hours to reach Kolkata, my final destination,” he said.
Speaking of his inspiration to take up the long-distance cycling mission, the owner of Aizawl’s oldest watch retail shop, said, “People from other states and countries have cycled to Aizawl as part of a mission. This inspired me to take it up as a challenge, and inspire Mizo youths to embark on such missions.”
Lalawmpuia had left Aizawl for Kolkata on January 26.
