SHILLONG:

A section of the people are peeved at the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) legislators Methodius Dkhar and Shakliar Warjri for extending their support to the National People’s Party (NPP) which is working towards staking claim for government formation.

In a statement issued, the Hynñiewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) informed that there will be a public meeting at Motphran at 1:00 pm on March 4, on what they termed as the “betrayal” of Shakliar Warjri and Methodious Dkhar, who did not lend their support to the regional parties – United Democratic Party (UDP), Voice of the People Party (VPP) and People’s Democratic Front (PDF).

They informed that they will burn the legislators’ effigies in a show of symbolic rejection, and demand both Warjri and Dkhar to withdraw their support to NPP.

Ka Sur ki Paidbah 7trep will also hold a meeting on Saturday at 10:00 am to discuss the actions of the two HSPDP legislators.

Meanwhile, in a press conference, the advisor of Ka Sur ki Paidbah 7trep, Erwin Sutnga, said, “We need clean governance and we want a non-NPP and non-BJP government.”

He said that there should be a government comprising UDP, PDF, All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), Congress and independents.
