In a big boost to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), almost 2000 people including local leaders like Rocky Marak (ex-Org. Secretary VPP), Nokmahs, village sardars, lecturers, grass root NPP supporters, and youth leaders joined the BJP during a programme organised at Resubelpara in North Garo Hills on December 17.
The joining happened in the presence of Assam BJP Media Convenor – Rupam Goswami, National Council Member – Rikman Momin, ex-NPP MLA -Benedic R. Marak, MDC and State Vice President – Bernard Marak, ex-CEM – Dipul Marak, MDC -Dharmonath Sangma, and District Presidents among others.
Welcoming the new members, Goswami assured them that the BJP would start working for their upliftment immediately upon forming the government after the next elections.
He congratulated them for choosing development, and promised the people that very soon the Garo Hills will experience the same development that many other states under BJP governments are experiencing now.
Rikman too promised the people that vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Meghalaya would be fully and speedily implemented in the state after the elections.
Bernard assured the people that the next BJP led government will fight and root out corruption from the state and ensure that every penny meant for the people reaches them.
The people joining the party expressed their hope and confidence in the BJP and in PM Modi to change their lives for the better.
