The rally, which started at the Fire Brigade Madan Iewrynghep, moved through the entire city before culminating at the State Party Office at Bivar road.

SHILLONG:

The Shillong District unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a mega bike rally on December 17, with more than 600 two wheelers taking part in the rally.

The rally, which started at the Fire Brigade Madan Iewrynghep, moved through the entire city before culminating at the State Party Office at Bivar road.

The rally was flagged off by BJP State President, Ernest Mawrie, and Minister, Sanbor Shullai.

During the flag off, Mawrie said that the rally is a celebration of the good works in Meghalaya under the Narendra Modi led central government schemes.

Mawrie said that the party will highlight the work of the Central Government and impressed upon the people that a BJP Government in the state too will double the pace of development as well. Shullai also participated in the rally along with the bikers.

At the closing program, MLA A. L. Hek congratulated the karyakartas for carrying the flag of the party through the city.

He insisted that the energy that the party is driving into the state will spread to all corners and the people will elect a BJP government in the coming elections.

The ‘Rally for Development’ is a call by the BJP to the people of the state to choose development over all else in the coming elections.
