Bring my son back: Parents of missing Arunachal boy tell PM Modi

On January 20, the PLA said that a boy had been found in Chinese territory, and he will be handed over to the Indian Army according to protocols.

SHILLONG:

Miram Tarom’s parents have sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention to bring back the 17-year-old home.

Making a desperate plea to Modi on January 25, Miram’s father, Opang Tarom, in a statement given to a news outlet, said, “I appeal to PM Modi to bring my son back home. He did not intrude into Chinese territory.”

After the missing report was filed, the Indian Army had immediately contacted the PLA and on January 20, the PLA got back saying that a boy had been found in their territory, and he will be handed over according to protocols.

Earlier, Miram, a native of Zido village in the district, had gone missing at the India-China border in the upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on January 18. He was allegedly abducted by China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) when he had wandered off into the depths of a nearby forest to hunt for medicinal herbs along with his friend, Johnny Yaying. While Johnny managed to flee, Tarom, unfortunately, was captured by the PLA.
