Shillong:
The Civil Hospital, Shillong is prepared for Covid-19 patients.
The Joint Director (SS) of the hospital, Dr. Andreas Dkhar, informed on Tuesday that the hospital has 11 beds.
Speaking to reporters, he said that those who show symptoms are tested, but the hospital is also not taking any chances and is testing those who do not show any signs and symptoms.
“There is not much of a spread here in the hospital. We are prepared with beds, oxygen supply is also functioning and ventilators are also in position,” he said.
He added that there will be a special ward for Covid-19. Once cases reach a certain threshold, the Step Down hospital at Umsawli will be activated to transfer patients who are not too sick/recovering patients, while more seriously ill patients will be treated at Civil Hospital.
