Yes, they do merit the modest effort required to read the subtitles. Away from the din of news and world events, a wonderful dose of therapy is K-drama.

Twenty Five Twenty One
This charming television series tells the coming-of-age love tale of Na Hee Do and Baek Yi-Jin in the 1990s. The plot centres on characters who find their hopes and goals crushed against the turbulent backdrop of South Korea experiencing a severe financial crisis. Together, they endure hardships and look forward to a better tomorrow.
Business Proposal
Business Proposal, one of the top K-dramas of 2022, is based on a webtoon of the same name written by Haehwa. In this entertaining romantic comedy, Shin Ha-Ri accepts her friend Jin Young’s invitation to go on a blind date that is arranged by the friend’s father. Shin learns that the man is Kang Tae-Mu, her CEO, and this causes an abrupt change in the scenario. He makes her an interesting proposal, which she accepts, but her life changes significantly after that.
Our Blues
This is a distinctive rural story of various Jeju Island locals navigating life, love, and everything that makes life “life”. Here, you’ll witness whether the relationships of the many individuals who live in this busy neighbourhood—fishermen and women, salespeople, students, and farmers, to mention a few—succeed or fail.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo
This moving courtroom drama narrates the story of Woo Young Woo, an attorney with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) and a 164 IQ who practises law at the Hanbada law firm. Extraordinary Attorney Woo dispels social stigmas towards people with disabilities like Young Woo and teaches us all that their strengths and skills can make them stand out. Many fans might wish to have Lee Hyun Kyu, the male lead, as a partner because he is a “walking green flag”. His genuine and kind gestures to Young Woo, as well as his charming smile, will make you swoon.
Pachinko
