GSU leaders, members join TMC in South West Garo Hills

The inductees, including GSU South West Garo Hills District President, Salman D Sangma, and GSU member, Rockey Marak, were welcomed into the party fold by Ampati MLA, Miani D Shira, State Mahila President, Selma D Shira, and West Garo Hills District Convenor and Meghalaya TMC South Tura candidate, Richard Mrong Marak, among others.

TURA:

The All-India Trinamool Congress (AITC) got a major boost in South West Garo Hills as more than 50 former Garo Students Union (GSU) and National People’s Party (NPP) workers joined the party on January 23.

The inductees, including GSU South West Garo Hills District President, Salman D Sangma, and GSU member, Rockey Marak, were welcomed into the party fold by Ampati MLA, Miani D Shira, State Mahila President, Selma D Shira, and West Garo Hills District Convenor and Meghalaya TMC South Tura candidate, Richard Mrong Marak, among others.

Welcoming the new leaders into the party fold, Miani D Shira said everyone who joined this party has taken a risk and decided to fight the current dispensation.

Taking potshots at the current NPP-led MDA government, Miani D Shira said, “In Meghalaya, there is no one better than Mukul Sangma, who has loved and taken care of the state. Now, we are seeing many problems in every department. In every aspect, things are getting worse. When we look into the border issue, it is really sad. There are no other leaders to fight this corrupt government except our leader Dr. Mukul Sangma.”

After joining the party, Salman D Sangma said, “I have joined TMC as I like their ideology, which focuses on secularism and federalism. Today, I would like to thank all the leaders who welcomed me to the party. I have officially joined TMC along with my supporters in the presence of Miani D Shira. I would also like to thank Richard Mrong Marak for organising this wonderful welcoming program.”
