SHILLONG:
The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) on August 22 demanded the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) to immediately declare the results for the posts of assistant engineer in the community & rural development (C&RD) department.
“Therefore, we strongly demand that the Commission should take necessary steps to declare the list of successful candidates in the written examination and call for the interview of such candidates as soon as possible and complete the entire process of recruitment within a significant period of time,” HYC general secretary Roy Kupar Synrem wrote in a letter to the Chairman of MPSC.
If that doesn’t happen, he threatened, “we’ll have no choice but to agitate and hold protest programs against the Commission.”
According to Synrem, the Commission’s delayed announcement of the written examination results raises major concerns about the transparency of the entire hiring process and negatively impacts the candidates’ mental and financial well-being.
According to him, a protracted wait will also contribute to the major issue of the bulk of these applicants being overly aged in the future.
Application calls for 35 assistant engineer positions in the C&RD department were made by the MPSC.
Vide notice dated March 3, it was informed to all the Applicants that the written examination was to be held on March 18, 2023 in the two centres at Shillong and Tura.
