Implement Roster System prospectively; halt all recruitments: KHNAM tells govt

Asked if the government has given any assurance on halting recruitments, KHNAM vice president Thomas Passah said that the party has got a positive response from the government, as for the prospective implementation of the Roster, that is up to the government.

SHILLONG:

Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) vice president Thomas Passah, on May 19, said that the party has made its point very clear on the prospective implementation of the Roster System, and halt all the recruitment processes till the Roster is properly put in place.

Speaking to media persons after walking out from an all-party meeting, Passah said, “There is a need to stop all these recruitments till the air is clear so that there is no misunderstanding. We have made our point that every time an advertisement comes out in the papers or through a department, the government has to ensure that none of the communities are deprived.”

Asked if the government has given any assurance on halting recruitments, he said that the party has got a positive response from the government, as for the prospective implementation of the Roster, that is up to the government.

He said that the government has collected data from 1972 which means it will be retrospective, and there is no second thought about it.

“When you are collecting data, we have to be very sure that the data collected is authentic. When we say authentic data, then MPSC or any other recruiting departments have to have specific data about each person who was employed in various departments right from 1972, which they don’t have,” he said.
