SHILLONG:
The Shillong Mihngi circle of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) held a meeting with the Director of North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS).
During the meeting on August 3, the union appealed to the director, Prof (Dr) Nalin Mehta, to address the pressing need for doctors and staff within the hospital.
The union conveyed concerns raised by the public regarding the scarcity of medical professionals and staff, which has been affecting the hospital’s services.
Assuring their concerns would be addressed, the Director pledged to investigate the matter further in response to the union’s appeal.
It may be mentioned that on July 23, a youth allegedly lost his life to doctor’s negligence (NEIGRIHMS).
