Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday explicitly clarified that the altercation that happened in Mahadev Khola on Monday was purely a standalone incident and there is no religious or communal colour to it.
“The incident was not communally or religiously motivated, it so happens that both the groups come from two different communities and therefore making it easy to connect the dots and give it a religious or communal colour,” Sangma stated.
The background of the involved individuals have been studied and they do not belong to any organisation, established Sangma thereby requesting everybody to not jump into conclusions giving a communal or religious angle as it leads to unnecessary tension.
He also reiterated saying that if certain news channels who resort to spreading misinformation without verifying facts, action will be taken against them.
