An unidentified body of a man was found lying on the road at Ladrymbai by-pass in East Jaintia Hills (EJH) district on August 2 around 5.30 am.
With both his hands tied, the deceased is suspected to have been murdered in another location and dumped at Ladrymbai by-pass.
According to the Superintendent of Police, EJH Jagpal Singh Dhanoa, the exact cause of death can only be ascertained by a post-mortem report.
“There are injury marks on the body so nothing can be ruled out at this moment. Prima facie, it’s a case of murder,” Dhanoa said.
Till the filing of this report on July 3, the identity of the person is yet to be established. The unclaimed body is being kept at Khliehriat Civil Hospital Morgue.
The police described the deceased as 5′.5” tall, with short hair, a fair complexion, and a round face. He was wearing jeans (black), a T-shirt (light green), and green underwear.
