Meghalaya citizens to return from Egypt soon: Dhar

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma had on October 8 shared through social media that the individuals stranded in the conflict-ridden zone of Israel have been successfully evacuated and have safely crossed the border into Egypt.

Lone Rajya Sabha MP WR Kharlukhi along with 26 other pilgrims from Meghalaya will return to the state in a matter of few days, Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar said on Tuesday.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma had on October 8 shared through social media that the individuals stranded in the conflict-ridden zone of Israel have been successfully evacuated and have safely crossed the border into Egypt.

“Day before yesterday, they successfully crossed the border. All of them are okay,” Dhar reiterated.

He informed that the chief minister had taken up the matter with the Centre. “According to him, they have crossed the border and there is no problem as they will now safely return in a few days’ time,” Dhar said.
