Nagaland reports 13 new Covid-19 cases, taking active count to 80

Of the fresh cases, Kohima recorded 10 and Longleng, Mokokchung and Mon one each.

Many states have been steadily reporting a rise in the number of Covid-19 positive cases, and among them was Nagaland, which reported 13 new cases on July 20, taking the active count to 80.

The health and family welfare department while making the announcement said that there were eight recoveries in the last 24 hours with no deaths reported while the sample positivity rate stood at 8.55 per cent.

Of the fresh cases, Kohima recorded 10 and Longleng, Mokokchung and Mon one each. Three people each in Kohima and Peren and one each in Dimapur and Mokokchung recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. The total caseload in the state stands at 35,6418.

So far, 759 people have died of the infection while 33,299 have recovered from it. Altogether 1,498 people migrated from the state.

Earlier, the Union Health Ministry had revealed that India had reported 15,528 new Covid cases in 24 hours on July 19, which is a decline from the previous day’s count of 16,935.

In the same period, the country has reported 25 more Covid deaths, taking the nationwide toll to 5,25,785.
