Agartala:
Chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohan Bhagwat will visit Tripura on January 24. Bhagwat, who will be on a four-day visit to the state, will be staying at Sevadham in Agartala, sources have confirmed.
Chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb would pay Bhagwat a courtesy call and Z Plus security cover would be provided to him. The septuagenarian will meet members of the Sangh and discuss various issues related to the state with cabinet members as well.
Earlier, Bhagwat was supposed to address a public meeting, but owing to the recent surge in Covid-19 cases in the state, sources informed that the meeting has been cancelled.
The RSS chief’s visit is expected to change the political scenario in the state much like the way his last visit to Tripura did before the Assembly elections in 2017. Bharatiya Janata Party had swept the polls that year.
