SHILLONG:
Cabinet Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh, on June 19, said that the new Office Memorandum (OM) on application of Roster Reservation has been issued keeping in mind the interest of the public of the state.
She further informed that the search committee formed to look for experts to study the reservation policy and the OM on roster will submit suggestions and views by today.
“That is something which has already been done, and a search committee has been formed to invite various experts from different fields to ensure OM is substantiated by individuals who have the expertise to comment on a certain matter,” she said.
She informed that the committee members have been given time till today to submit all of their queries either to the chairperson of the committee of the all political parties or to the chief minister or the chief secretary.
“We will consolidate on all of these materials that we get, and look at the kind of queries that have been put forward because even before calling for an expert committee, one must first understand what are the questions being asked by the various political parties, civil society members various NGOs, and others who seek information on the mind of the government on the evaluation and review of Reservation Policy,” she said.
Lyngdoh informed that it will take some time to substantiate a legal scrutiny on the Reservation Policy.
