SHILLONG:
The Meghalaya State Naming Authority Committee, on July 26, made a decision to send 13 proposals relating to renaming of certain roads, buildings and locations to the State Cabinet for its approval.
After chairing its first meeting, Chairman of the committee and Cabinet Minister Rakkam Sangma said, “We have discussed and approved 13 proposals for placing before the State Cabinet for its final approval,” adding that the proposals have been submitted by certain departments, legislators and individuals.The chairman further informed that there are proposals which have already been placed before the Cabinet but were sent back to the committee for further examination and rectification.
When asked, Sangma said that the proposals will be put up before the Cabinet in its next meeting which will be held soon.
