SHILLONG:
A day ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Shillong on December 17.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D Mishra (Retd), and other dignitaries welcomed the Union Minister at the Raj Bhavan.
Shah, who was accompanied by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, planted a sapling of the auracacia tree at Raj Bhavan as part of his two-day visit to the State to attend the 50th Golden Jubilee Celebration of the North Eastern Council.
Union Home Secretary, Ajay K Bhalla, Meghalaya Chief Secretary, D. P. Wahlang, Director General of the Assam Rifles, Lieutenant General Pradeep Chandran Nair, and Director General of Police Dr. Lajja Ram Bishnoi were among the others present at Raj Bhavan to welcome Shah.
