NEW DELHI:

The Chairman of the Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), James PK Sangma, attended a meeting with the officials of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on May 1, to explore their cooperation with the MIDC.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the current state of the industry, the challenges faced, and potential ways to collaborate and address these issues.

FICCI has a strong focus on research and knowledge in the Northeastern region, including Meghalaya, which allows them to identify investment opportunities that align with the region’s strengths and needs.

The meeting was attended by representatives from FICCI, which included the Director General, Chawla, and his team. Among the topics discussed were the challenges that the industrial sector in Meghalaya is facing, as well as potential solutions and strategies for overcoming them.

“FICCI has spelled out many of the challenges that Meghalaya is facing from their perspective and these insights are very valuable to us as we take things forward in terms of industrial growth in our state. It is also a great opportunity to work together, share knowledge, and look at how we can take Meghalaya forward by engaging with a reputable industrial body like FICCI,” said Sangma at the meeting.

During the meeting, Sangma and the members of the FICCI engaged in a productive and insightful discussion about the various factors affecting industrial growth in the Northeast including Meghalaya, regulatory and policy issues, emerging trends, and technological advancements. They also exchanged ideas on how to foster greater cooperation and partnership, with the goal of promoting growth, innovation, and sustainability in the industry.

“We are proud to work alongside industrial bodies like FICCI to tackle the challenges facing our industry and create new opportunities for growth,” Sangma said.

“This meeting was an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices with our peers and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry,” he added.
