TURA:
A total of 22 persons have been arrested for hijacking the chief minister-ACHIK meeting in Tura on July 24 and creating mayhem in the district headquarters of West Garo Hills, injuring several police personnel and damage to public property.
Among the arrested individuals was one of the main instigators, Jeckson A Sangma (36) of Dakopgre village.
Earlier today, TMC leader Richard Marak was arrested by the police for his alleged involvement in the case; on July 24 evening, 18 others were arrested, including two BJP Mahila Morcha women.
